Returnable packaging - a cost effective option!

Our returnable plastic containers and pallets may initially be more expensive than traditional forms of packaging, such as cardboard boxes and wooden pallets. However, they typically pay for themselves quickly, making them far more cost effective long term.

One of the areas where plastic containers can make a significant impact is in the delivery vehicle. Distribution managers will always try to maximise space utilisation in the trailer, thereby minimising the number of trips.

Utilise transit space

Our 1200 x 1000 x 975mm foldable pallet container offers many advantages over conventional wooden pallets, cartons and stillages. By using it, companies can save up to 50% of valuable transit space. The robust construction means that its contents are carried securely and protected during transit.

The container stacks up to four high when full. Trailer heights normally limit this to a maximum of three standard height units in practice. To avoid product damage, companies will not normally stack palletised loads. If they do, the stack will be limited to two layers.

Calculated

The two tables depict the trailer capacity for our 1200 x 1000 x 975mm foldable pallet container and standard palletised loads. We have based our calculations upon three commonly used trailer sizes; conventional 40 footer, oversize 40 footer and draw bar unit, having volumes of 60, 80 and 120 cubic metres.

When empty, seven units can be stacked in the same space as three full containers. In addition to the considerable savings to be made in transportation costs, the use of multi trip containers allows companies to accurately forecast their packaging requirements a long time into the future.

Eliminate ongoing purchasing and disposal costs!

By using our foldable pallet containers, businesses can eliminate the disposal costs associated with one trip packaging. For those companies that argue that they do not have the budget to finance the initial capital outlay, various rental or pooling schemes are available.
